Privacy Policy

Porokh (https://porokh.app) is an exam-preparation platform for class 6–12 students in Bangladesh, available on the web and as an Android app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Who this applies to

Porokh is used by school and college students, many of whom are minors. Accounts are created and managed by the student (or with a parent/guardian's involvement where the student is younger), and we only collect the information described below to run the service.

Information we collect

Account info: name, email address, and password (or Google sign-in identity) or one-time email codes.
Profile info you provide: class/grade, phone number, institute, address.
Usage data: subjects/topics viewed, quiz and exam attempts and scores, courses you build, questions you ask teachers.
Payment records: for manual mobile-payment top-ups (bKash/Nagad) we store the plan, amount, the transaction ID you submit, and verification status. We do not collect or store your card/wallet PIN or full account credentials.
Device push-notification token, if you enable notifications, so we can deliver them.
Basic technical data (IP address, device/browser type) for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

To create and secure your account, and verify your identity via email codes.
To deliver the study content, quizzes, exams, and personalized courses you use.
To process and verify subscription payments and show your purchase history.
To send account-related emails (verification codes, password resets, payment/subscription updates) and, if enabled, push notifications.
To detect fraud, abuse, and to keep the service secure and reliable.

Who we share it with

Resend — sends our transactional emails (OTP codes, receipts).
Neon (Postgres database) and Vercel — host our database and application infrastructure.
Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to the Android app, if enabled.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and content promptly; some payment records may be retained briefly for accounting/fraud-prevention reasons before deletion.

Your choices

You can edit your profile at any time. You can permanently delete your account and associated data from the app's Profile screen, or via our account deletion page.

Children's privacy

Porokh is designed for school-age students. We only collect the information needed to provide the study platform (listed above) and do not knowingly use children's data for third-party advertising.
